New Affordable Housing Neighbourhood Celebrated

Last week, families who have recently moved into their new neighbourhood in Colwill Road, Massey celebrated the near-completion of this exciting affordable housing development with invited guests.

Developed by the New Zealand Housing Foundation this neighbourhood is the latest use of innovative ways to make housing affordable. This has enabled families to own their own homes, when it would not otherwise be possible, through various combinations of shared ownership, shared equity and other funding arrangements with NZ Housing Foundation and other partners.

The Tindall Foundation has supported NZ Housing Foundation to develop these mechanisms and has provided capital for pilot projects. We congratulate NZ Housing Foundation, for their hard work and the families for owning their very first home.
