Living Legends - Planting Dates

Posted on 28 June 2012 | 0 Comments

Living Legends is returning to 17 locations across the country to plant 45,000 trees this year. Be one of the many volunteers and team up with Rugby Legends in restoring the native trees of New Zealand.

In 2011, to celebrate New Zealand's hosting of Rugby World Cup, 17 New Zealand Rugby Legends joined thousands of volunteers to plant 83,000 native trees throughout New Zealand. The target is to plant 170,000 trees before the end of 2015.

Each planting project is dedicated to a regional 'Rugby Legend' who was selected in 2011 by their provincial rugby union. These Rugby Legends are people who have made an outstanding contribution to rugby in New Zealand. Come along to a Living Legends even this year and you may be lucky enough to meet your local Rugby Legend!

Living Legends is a joint project venture of Project Crimson, an environmental charity with 20 years experience in community-based native restoration projects and The Tindall Foundation with the support of major sponsors the Department of Conservation and Meridian Energy.

Check out the planting dates below Todd Blackadder and book online to ensure your place. To register for these events visit the Living Legends website.
