Strategy Outline
While literacy and numeracy are primarily the responsibility of the education sector, the lack of adequate skills amongst adults is linked to many social problems like crime and poverty, and is becoming a major issue for business and employment. Some groups (e.g. migrant, Maori and Pacific Islanders) have greater needs and less access to remedial services.
Nationally, The Tindall Foundation will directly fund national bodies that provide resources and training, build capacity and retain volunteer support for local groups. These organisations can apply online to the Foundation.
Locally, groups providing these services can apply for Tindall Foundation support via Faith or Regional Funding Managers.
