Whanganui Community Foundation

The Whanganui Community Foundation is involved in grant making, networking and professional development for the community sector.  The Foundation is also developing a community leadership role around facilitating informed community discussion around appropriate community issues.

A Community Partnerships Manager has recently been appointed with the objective of proactively encouraging not-for-profit and business partnerships and philanthropy generally in the community.

The Whanganui Community Foundation was formed as the Trust Bank Wanganui Community Trust in 1988 and changed its name to better reflect its range of activities several years ago. The Whanganui Community Foundation supports initiatives in the Programme Area, Support for Families and Social Services.
