On June 13th and 14th, two representatives from The Tindall Foundation, Kate Tindall and Dave Richards, attended a collaborative Funders' Forum and visited some of our Christchurch Funding Managers.
The one-day Funders' Forum was organised by Philanthropy New Zealand. It provided an excellent opportunity for a range of government and philanthropic funders to share information and strategise.
Highlights of the day included a presentation explaining CERA's Recovery Strategy for Greater Christchurch, followed by an informative summary of the current social needs from Bede Martin of Interact Canterbury. These presentations led to further discussion of key topics such as the needs of young people and how to best support community organisations.
While in Christchurch, Kate and Dave also took the opportunity to spend some time with a few of our invaluable partners including Presbyterian Support, The Anglican City Mission and CanCERN to hear how they are responding to the unravelling social needs since the earthquakes.
