The theme of The Tindall Foundation's Annual Report 2007 is "Small Beginnings". It is also a calendar for 2008.
The Report captures the sorts of initiatives The Tindall Foundation likes most. As a private family foundation, we can help big ideas at their very early stages, before they've developed enough structure and a track record to go to other funders for support. Big dreams like Enviroschools start from very small beginnings like these.
Small beginnings can also be about people and communities helping themselves in small and local ways. Getting together to restore a playground, which initiates new relationships and self-determination, is one example of how small beginnings can lead to greater opportunities in a neighbourhood.
