About Us

History, Philosophy and Aims

In 1994, Stephen and Margaret Tindall established The Tindall Foundation, driven by a desire to support initiatives in New Zealand which assist families and communities to help themselves and to heal problems rather than manage them.

The vision for The Tindall Foundation is to play a supportive role in the philanthropic sector in New Zealand.  We collaborate with others working in this field, as well as drawing on the knowledge, professionalism and expertise of the not-for-profit sector in the allocation of our donations.

Between 1995 and 2011, The Tindall Foundation has donated $100 million to Community Organisations and Initiatives across New Zealand. In addition, it has paid over $90 million to the government in prepaid tax.
